The Weeknd and Selena Gomez Break Up
After a year dating, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez's relationship is no more.
According to People, their demanding schedules caused the breakup, with the Canadian singer still touring and Gomez filming. A source the magazine also said their relationship has been on the rocks for quite some time now.
"She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship," the insider revealed. "It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”
The fact that Gomez couldn't attend as many The Weeknd's shows as she would've probably liked to caused the split as well, said the source.
He or she also stated that even though both singers aren't together anymore, they continue to be on good terms and are still communicating. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been difficult for them.
"It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months," explained the source.
News The Weeknd and Gomez breaking up comes one day after she was seen having breakfast with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. TMZ reported that the two met inside a California cafe this past Sunday (Oct. 29).
As far as The Weeknd and Gomez, they made a huge appearance together at the 2017 Met Gala in New York City earlier this year. Then he stood by her side as she underwent a kidney transplant. He even scheduled his tour around her operation.
At this time, neither The Weeknd or Gomez have addressed the split, but they may do so in the coming days.
