New Jimi Hendrix Songs Unearthed for 'Both Sides the Sky' LP

Even 47 years after his tragic death, Jimi Hendrix's musical legacy continues to grow. It's just been announced that a new collection songs will arrive from the late guitar virtuoso early next year. Titled Both Sides the Sky, the album is due out on March 9 Legacy Recordings.

The forthcoming release features 13 studio recordings captured between 1968 and 1970, including 10 previously unreleased songs.

Most the tracks were recorded with the three-piece band later known as Band Gypsys, featuring Hendrix on guitar and vocals, Billy Cox on bass, and Buddy Miles on drums. Other guest contributors include Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding, Stephen Stills (on "$20 Fine" and the Joni Mitchell-composed "Woodstock"), Duane Hitchings, Johnny Winter, Dallas Taylor and Lonnie Youngblood.

Amongst original cuts, there are also covers songs by Muddy Waters ("Mannish Boy") and Guitar Slim ("Things I Used to Do"). See the full tracklsiting down below.
