Faith No More lead singer Chuck Mosley dies, age 57

Faith No More lead singer Chuck Mosley has died, according to a statement from his family.

The Los Angles punk native, who pioneered the rock band's first hit 'We Care a Lot' in 1987, passed away on Thursday (November 9) after complications related to "the disease addiction".

Mosley's family shared a post on the EMP Label Group's Facebook page, saying: "After a long period sobriety, Charles Henry Mosley III lost his life, on November 9th, 2017, due to the disease addiction.

"We're sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety."

It goes on to say that the family are accepting donations for funeral expenses.

Mosley was Faith No More's frontman between 1984 and 1988. He can be heard on their first two albums We Care a Lot and Introduce Yourself.

The single, 'We Care a Lot', became one their biggest songs, alongside 'Epic' and 'Midlife Crisis'.

He helped to form the group's funk metal sound, but was fired in 1988 after his behaviour had started to become increasingly erratic.

One incident involved him falling asleep on stage during the release party for the album Introduce Yourself.

He was replaced in the band by Mike Patton.

After Faith No More, Mosley continued to sing and was in the hardcore band Bad Brains and funk metal group Cement. He also toured his own solo acoustic material last year.

He is survived by long-term partner Pip Logan and his two daughters, Erica and Sophie.
